This course provides students with basic institutional knowledge of the finance sector. Students are introduced to the theory of pricing of risky assets; the fundamentals of capital budgeting, including methods of allowing for inflation; the term structure of interest rates; the treatment of risk; instruments of corporate funding; the theory and practice of capital structure; and dividend policy decisions.

This course introduces students to a range of issues in Asian economics. Students study comparative business development in Asia and identify regional factors influencing business including sociocultural differences, governmental regulations and the development of ASEAN and APEC. Comparative business and management systems include analysis of China, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Multinational enterprises in Asia are also examined.
